With 50 years of experience to her credit, Ms. Buck has excelled as founder of Buck Sentinel Rock Consulting LLC since 2021. She began her career as vice president and business manager of UCB Chemicals and business manager of UCB Surface Specialties from 1999 to 2005. She served as vice president of marketing and sales at Climax Molybdenum from 2005 to 2020. Concurrent to this posting, she held the role of president of the executive committee of the International Molybdenum Association from 2017 to 2021.
Before embarking on her professional path, Ms. Buck pursued an education at Carnegie Mellon University with a Bachelor of Science in chemical engineering in 1973. She also completed the Wharton Executive Management Program in 1996. In light of her impressive undertakings, Ms. Buck has accrued several accolades throughout her career including being selected for inclusion in Who’s Who of Professional Women.
In addition to her primary vocation, Ms. Buck remains affiliated with various organizations in relation to her areas of expertise. She was a member of the American Water Works Association, the American Chemical Society, the Phoenix Committee on Foreign Relations, and the Society of Women Engineers, of which she has been a member since 1974 and held the role of National Convention Chairwoman of the National Executive Committee in 1980. She was advisor to the secretary-general of the International Molybdenum Association and a member of Carnegie Mellon Dean’s Advocacy Council since 2008.
In the immediate future, Ms. Buck intends to support the International Millennium Association and their members. She also hopes to work on interesting technologies that will help them achieve their ESG goals. She wishes to develop sound scientific information so people can make good decisions concerning technology deployment.
