With 45 years of experience to his credit, Dr. DiFranza has excelled as the founder, chief executive officer, dog behaviorist, and advanced handler for Kamp K-9 Jax Bch since 2014. A lifelong dog owner, he was drawn to his present positions after hosting a small free class on dog behavior and tool usage as to help people identify dog behavior and learn how to walk a dog, which was such a rousing success that it inspired to him to travel nationwide to help people rehabilitate dogs from frustrating habits. In addition to his responsibilities with Kamp K-9 Jax Bch, he has been active as the president of WinFirst International Inc. since 1999, the owner and head instructor with First Coast Kodokan Judo since 2009, and the owner of Greg DiFranza Photography since 2010. Dr. DiFranza began his career at the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office in Florida, serving to the post of deputy sheriff between 1978 and 1998.
Before embarking on his professional path, Dr. DiFranza pursued an education at Florida Junior College, from which he earned an Associate of Science in criminal justice. He continued his academic efforts at La Salle University, obtaining a Bachelor of Arts in education, cum laude, and a Master of Science in education, cum laude. He concluded his studies at La Salle University in 1997, graduating with a Doctor of Philosophy in adult education, magna cum laude. In addition to these accomplishments, Dr. DiFranza has been certified as a level three volunteer dog handler by the Jacksonville Humane Society and in Cesar Millan’s Dog Fundamentals.
In light of his impressive undertakings, Dr. DiFranza has accrued several accolades throughout his career. In 2014, he was recognized as the People’s Choice Winner by ViewBug.com. A five-time Heavyweight International Master’s Champion, Dr. DiFranza was likewise distinguished as a two-time U.S. Open Champion, a three-time Pan-American Champion, and a three-time World Police & Fire Games Champion.
Outside of his immediate endeavors, Dr. DiFranza has found success as the author of his 2017 book, “Dog Stories.” He additionally contributed his knowledge and expertise to others in his field as a presenter for “How To Be An Even Better Pack Leader” in 2015. Looking toward the future, Dr. DiFranza hopes to establish a property where people can bring their dogs in order to see how they behave around other dogs in a social setting.
