In this role he heads the firm’s investment committee, through which he is responsible for investment decisions regarding asset management, client relations, capital market analysis, investing in public and private markets, and portfolio construction, among other areas of focus. Since advancing to his current position, Mr. Kersting’s investment capabilities and propensity for acting in the best interests of his clients have sustained an impressive degree of growth at Janiczek Wealth Management. Collaborating directly with clients to gain an intrinsic understanding of their needs, he works diligently to assemble a portfolio that best suits their goals and sets them on the road to future success.
Prior to his current role, Mr. Kersting served as the director of investments at Janiczek Wealth Management between 2015 and 2019. He previously worked as an asset management group consultant services manager at Curian Clearing LLC from 2013 to 2015, having begun his career as an investment consultant at Jackson National Life Insurance Company in 2007. Outside of his primary endeavors, he works directly with the Stock Market Experience and the Economic Literacy of Colorado to teach local youth the best practices in leadership, financial literacy, and entrepreneurial thinking. Mr. Kersting is also a prolific volunteer with such organizations as the Make-A-Wish Foundation, Mile High United Way, and Playworks.
Mr. Kersting initially studied at Colorado State University, from which he earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. Following this accomplishment, he went on to attend Regis University, where he graduated with a Master of Business Administration in 2013. Eminently qualified to work in his field, he bears numerous designations as a Chartered Financial Analyst and a Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst, and maintains his affiliation with several relevant groups, such as the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority, the Chartered Financial Analyst Institute and the Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst Association.
Noted for his achievements in the field of financial management, Mr. Kersting has been nominated for several accolades, such as the State’s Best Wealth Manager award, the Five Star Investment Advisor award, and inclusion among Denver’s 40 Under 40. In accounting for his success, he largely credits his competitive spirit, which has driven him to continue going above and beyond on behalf of his clients.
