Sabrina D. Tacey, the director and owner at Stemtree of Columbia, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Executives for dedication, achievements, and leadership in the field of education.
Motivated by a deep and abiding passion for the safety and education of children, Ms. Tacey has found success as the owner and director of Stemtree of Columbia, a STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) education center for children of all ages and learning ability. Focusing on a comprehensive curriculum that includes science, coding, technology, robotics, electricity and electronics engineering, and mathematics, she works diligently to provide a safe and inclusive environment for all students, for whom she serves as a point of contact on behalf of their families. Among her most cherished accomplishments in this role, Ms. Tacey is particularly proud to have served over 600 students in the past year, which surpassed previous goals at Stemtree.
Prior to her current endeavors, Ms. Tacey served as the owner and operator of Sunshine Kids Learning Cottage for 10 years. In light of her husband’s service in military intelligence, she also relocated frequently and found work as an in-home family childcare provider on various military bases and at child development centers. Following her work at a child development center in Daegu, South Korea, she was distinguished as the first person to establish a family child care home on Camp George in Daegu as well as on the peninsula of South Korea. She was initially inspired to become involved with Stemtree because of her own children, who have always been interested in the field but lacked the opportunities to become involved before they reached high school age. Since her husband was approaching retirement from military service, Ms. Tacey’s family was afforded the chance to remain in Maryland, where they successfully established a Stemtree franchise. Looking toward the future, she aspires to expand the business throughout nearby Howard County, having noticed several areas that could benefit from an enhanced approach to early STEM education.
