Abhishek Pandey, group director for systems engineering in North America at ZKW Group, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Executives for dedication, achievements, and leadership in the field of mechanical engineering.
Mr. Pandey, a mechanical engineer, has built a strong reputation for his expertise in the field of automotive lighting, effectively overseeing complex projects for nearly a decade. Raised in India by a middle-class family that emphasized the value of education, Mr. Pandey dreamed of being able to pursue graduate-level study in the United States from a young age. In 2009, he successfully obtained a Bachelor of Engineering degree in mechanical engineering from SIT Tumkur, VTU. While pursuing his bachelor’s degree, he earned recognition for securing his selection and skillfully executing a project supported by TEQIP, a program jointly funded by the World Bank and the Government of India/State, at NITK, Surathkal. He also showcased his leadership abilities by taking on the role of the student founding member of the SAE-India SIT Collegiate Club, a student chapter of SAE. In 2008, Mr. Pandey continued to demonstrate his abilities by being among the initial engineers from his cohort to secure a placement through the college’s placement cell. He subsequently joined Larsen & Toubro, one of India’s leading engineering companies, in Mumbai. Mr. Pandey progressed to the role of Assistant Manager, where he cultivated a reputation for leadership ability and technical excellence over the next three years, earning a rating of a Top Performer in the annual performance review in 2012.
In 2013, Mr. Pandey was selected to attend Stony Brook University in the United States, which awarded him a Master of Science in mechanical engineering the following year. While at Stony Brook University, Mr. Pandey served as graduate research student in the energy harvesting and mechatronics research lab, contributing to papers later published in the SPIE proceedings and peer reviewed journal published by IEEE. Mr. Pandey also assumed a pivotal role in a project sponsored by a state-level grant from the “State University of NY Small Grant Sustainability” and received research cost share support from the “Senior VP for Administration SUNY at Stony Brook” at SUNY, Stony Brook, NY in 2014. Throughout his career, Mr. Pandey has continued to pursue additional professional development opportunities. In 2022, he was selected for Stanford University’s Graduate School of Business Executive Leadership Development Program, an experience he considers a professional highlight.
In 2015, Mr. Pandey joined ZKW Group as a design and systems engineer, motivated by the opportunity to work with some of the automotive industry’s leading original equipment manufacturers. In 2018, he rose to become a technical project manager, followed by promotions to senior technical project manager and senior manager of project management and engineering in 2020. Since 2022, Mr. Pandey has served as the firm’s Americas group director of systems engineering, where he is responsible for overseeing systems engineering functions for regional accounts of North American Automotive OEMs.
In recognition of his innovation and dedication to excellence, Mr. Pandey was acknowledged as the Most Valuable Player (MVP) for projects linked with a prominent Automotive OEM in North America in 2017, and is widely recognized as one of the top performers in his sector by clients and colleagues. Mr. Pandey credits his success to the unwavering support of his family and his wife, a Gonzaga University professor, and to his personal philosophy of emphasizing kindness, respect, and collaboration. He looks forward to continuing to develop as a problem solving leader. In his personal time, Mr. Pandey is active in his community and enjoys travel and spending time with his family.
