Mr. Fonseca’s professional trajectory commenced at McDonald’s in 2006, where he started as a crew member and progressively rose to roles such as crew trainer, shift manager, assistant store manager, and finally, area supervisor, overseeing human resources, training, and development from 2013 to 2016. Transitioning to the public sector, he joined the City of Homestead in 2016 as an accountant I, steadily advancing to accountant II, then accountant III as a senior accountant, culminating in his tenure as accounting manager from 2021 to 2023. Currently, he serves as the assistant director of finance and controller, contributing his expertise to overseeing the city’s financial planning, record-keeping, and staff management.
Mr. Fonseca has been actively engaged in various philanthropic initiatives, dedicating his time and support to organizations such as St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, Doctors Beyond Borders, the Wounded Warrior Project, Sea Legacy, Lonely Whale, Mission Blue, the Ocean Conservancy, The World Wildlife Foundation, the Human Rights Campaign, Homes for Troops, the Woman’s Funds, and Polaris. Additionally, he has contributed his expertise as an income tax preparer at the Internal Revenue Services in 2013 and 2015. His philanthropic efforts have been recognized through leadership awards from McDonald’s in 2013 and 2015, acknowledging his exceptional contributions as president, chief executive officer, and director of operations.
Mr. Fonseca attributes his success to his work ethic and consistency as a team player.
