Singularly driven by a commitment to doing the right thing, Mr. Shevlin leverages more than 25 years of experience in his chosen field. Beginning in 1996 as an economist with the Bureau of Labor Statistics, he went on to serve as a global financial market analyst, deputy financial attaché, and international economist and quantitative modeler with the U.S. Department of the Treasury. Throughout this period, he is most proud to have won a 98% debt reduction on behalf of Iraq via the Paris Club – a group of officials from major creditor countries whose role is to find coordinated and sustainable solutions to the payment difficulties experienced by debtor countries – through rigorous quantitative analysis. Additionally, he was bestowed with the Lawrence H. Klein Award during this time, which is given to those who demonstrate excellence in economic forecasting.
Mr. Shevlin first studied economics at the State University of New York College at Geneseo, from which he earned a bachelor’s degree, magna cum laude, in 1994. Eminently qualified in his field, Mr. Shevlin holds certification in financial risk management, and as a chartered financial analyst.
In accounting for his success, Mr. Shevlin credits his propensity for integrity and honesty. Either he does it right, or he doesn’t do it at all. Looking toward the future, he aspires to continue investing more time and effort into his economic research, and in sharing the results of his studies with the world.
