Before embarking on his professional path, Mr. Manns pursued an education at The Open University where he earned a diploma (level 5) in physics in 2003. He completed a post-graduate certification in project management at Arden University in 2019. He holds multiple certifications including a project management professional qualification, and a chartership for project management awarded by the Queen of England.

He was a member of the Project Management Institute and the Association for Project Management. In light of his impressive undertakings, he has accrued several accolades throughout his career. He was presented with the Long Service and Good Conduct Awards by the Royal Air Force.
