With 45 years of experience to his credit, Mr. Nathanson has excelled as executive director of the Eagle Oak Retreat Foundation since 2023. He began his career in the United States Marines, where he served for nearly 35 years. He established himself as a marine from 1987 to 2020, commanding officer of Combat Logistics Battalion 1 with the 1st Marine Logistics Group from 2007 to 2009, strategic planner and project manager for the Joint Staff from 2010 to 2013, director of operations for the 3rd Marine Logistics Group of the Marine Forces Pacific from 2013 to 2015, and director of logistics of the 1st Marine Division from 2017 to 2018. He continued his contributions with the same as commanding officer of the Combat Logistics Regiment 3 from 2015 to 2017, director of global transportation with I Marine Expeditionary Force from 2018 to 2021. He retired from his military career at the rank of brigadier general select.
Mr. Nathanson garnered a stellar reputation as operations manager at Amazon Logistics from 2021 to 2022. He worked for Vault Health as a senior director supply chain and regional director in 2022. He found success as director of operations for global expansion at Onebrief from 2022 to 2023.
Before embarking on his professional path, Mr. Nathanson pursued an education at Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in political science and government in 1991. He continued his academic efforts at the United States Naval War College, obtaining a Master of Arts in international studies in 2005. At the Marine Corps University, he completed a master’s degree in advanced military and operational studies in 2006. He graduated with a master’s degree in military and strategic leadership at the Marine Corps War College in 2010 and is currently pursuing a PhD in leadership.
Beyond his responsibilities within the field, Mr. Nathanson has participated in numerous endeavors outside of his professional circles. He volunteered as a mentor with Claymore Operations. In addition to his primary vocation, he remains affiliated with various organizations in relation to his areas of expertise. He was a member of the Marine Corps Retired Officers Association, the Combat Veteran Motorcycles Association, the Marine Corps Logisticians Association, and the National Transportation Defense Association. He was awarded with two Legions of Merit Awards, two Bronze Star, and several other campaign and personal decorations.
