Dr. Tobe Aguocha, project manager of commercial construction at Valero, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Executives for dedication, achievements, and leadership in cost control and cost management.
With 12 years of experience to his credit, Dr. Aguocha has excelled as project manager of commercial construction at Valero since 2023. He established himself as a project manager at several companies including SmartMark Limited from 2011 to 2013, Hometel Developers from 2013 to 2016, LMD Architects in 2017, Stadler Custom Homes from 2017 to 2020, and Propel Management, LLC from 2020 to 2021. He worked as a contract manager at Terravista Corporation from 2016 to 2017. He was active as a construction manager at Amazon from 2021 to 2023. At The University of Texas at San Antonio, he has contributed as an adjunct professor since 2021.
Before embarking on his professional path, Dr. Aguocha pursued an education at the University of Nigeria where he earned a Bachelor of Science in architecture in 2005 and a Master of Science in architecture in 2007. He continued his academic efforts at the University of Lagos, obtaining a Master of Business Administration in business administration, management, and operations in 2012. At St. Phillip’s College, he accrued an associate of applied sciences in construction business management in 2019. He concluded his studies at Northcentral University, graduating with a Doctor of Business Administration in project management in 2023. He has held technical certifications from the CITI Program, the Project Management Institute, 6sigmastudy, the OSHA Safety Training Institute, and the Scrum Alliance.
Beyond his responsibilities within the field, Dr. Aguocha has participated in numerous endeavors outside of his professional circles. He supports his local church’s young league basketball team and goes out to train with the team regularly. In addition to his primary vocation, he remains affiliated with various organizations in relation to his areas of expertise. He was a member of the Phi Theta Kappa National Honor Society, Rotary International, the Project Management Institute, the Construction Management Association of America – South Central Texas, the Scrum Alliance, and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration.
In light of his impressive undertakings, Dr. Aguocha has accrued several accolades throughout his career. At Amazon, he oversaw a project that was recognized as the Most Successful Project in 2022 and he was presented with the Award for Process Improvement and Delivery for Solar Generation Efforts. He received the President’s Honors Award from the Phi Theta Kappa National Honor Society in 2019. In the immediate future, he intends to become an entrepreneur while also pursuing his long-held dream of becoming a private pilot.
