With 45 years of experience to his credit, Mr. Clark has excelled as a professional horticulturist, florist, and educator at David R. Clark since 1978. He has served as an independent contractor and consultant at with the company since 2015 and as owner since 2017. He established himself in displays and sales and as an account manager, buyer, and florist at Claymore C. Sieck from 1990 to 2015. As a horticulture instructor, he has contributed to Buffalo and Erie County Botanical Gardens since 2007 and the Phipps Conservatory and Botanical Gardens from 2012 to 2015. He has been active as a floral designer and horticulture educator at Lockwood’s Greenhouses and Farm since 2010.

Mr. Clark continued his career as a certified trainer at Landscape for Life since 2013. He garnered a stellar reputation as a horticulture department professor at the State University of New York Niagara County Community College and as an event specialist at Costamagna Design in 2015. At The Plant Place and Flower Basket, he was active as a floral designer, social media liaison, and marketing manager from 2016 to 2017. He worked for Niagara Quality Flowers Inc. as an account executive and warehouse logistics manager since 2017 before transitioning to the role of certified nursery and landscape professional at New York State Nursery and Landscape Association, Inc. since 2017.

 Before embarking on his professional path, Mr. Clark pursued an education at the State University of New York College of Agriculture and Technology at Cobleskill, where he earned an associate of applied sciences in ornamental horticulture and floriculture production, graduating with honors in 1980. He holds certifications as a nursery and landscape professional and as a trainer for the Landscape for Life Program.

Beyond his responsibilities within the field, Mr. Clark has participated in numerous endeavors outside of his professional circles. He donated his time and efforts to the Hamburg Middle School Garden Club, the Erie County Agricultural Society, Garden Walk Buffalo, and Gardens Buffalo Niagara. He found success with his written works “Superior Spring Flowering Bulbs,” “A Six Step Program for Garden Addiction,” and “Gardening, Medicinal Plants and More,” which he co-authored. He contributed to the “Poinsettias 2014 – Expect the Unexpected” project and the Science Café Series at the Buffalo and Erie County Botanical Gardens.

In addition to his primary vocation, Mr. Clark remains affiliated with various organizations in relation to his areas of expertise. He was a member of the New York State Nursery and Landscape Association, Plant WNY, Garden Communicators International, the Erie County Agricultural Society, the Niagara International Association of Florists, and Phi Theta Kappa. In light of his impressive undertakings, he has accrued several accolades throughout his career. He was presented with a certificate of appreciation from the American Horticultural Society and was featured in numerous podcasts and television shows.
