John A. O’Grady, founder and owner of O’Grady Leadership and Consulting Services, LLC., has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Executives for dedication, achievements, and leadership in leadership consulting.
Mr. O’Grady is a distinguished professional who has excelled in his career. He has cultivated a lifetime of military leadership into a career as the founder and owner of O’Grady Leadership and Consulting Services, LLC., where he engages with businesses to teach leadership skills to sports teams, leading business organizations and small businesses. He further dedicates his time to volunteering for the Forbes Coaches Council and serves as an executive board member for Soldiers to Sidelines.
As a member of the United States Army, Mr. O’Grady honed his skills through numerous positions within the institution, including two tours of duty in Iraq and Afghanistan. Between 2006 and 2008, he acted as a human resources manager, advancing to advisor to the director of human resources between 2008 and 2009. He became a battalion commander between 2009 and 2012, a brigade commander of the 42nd Fires Brigade between 2013 and 2014, and the commander of the 3rd Infantry Division Artillery (DIVARTY) between 2014 and 2015. Between 2015 and 2016, Mr. O’Grady served as the chief of staff and a senior fellow for the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS), transitioning as an executive officer to the commanding general of NATO allied land command between 2016 and 2017. Before retiring, he contributed to the Chief Collective Training Division of the Headquarters of the Department of the Army (HQDA G-3/5/7) between 2017 and 2020.
Attributing his success to his ability to interact well with people, Mr. O’Grady utilized this asset to earn a Bachelor of Science in military science, leadership, and operational art from the United States Military Academy at West Point in 1990. In 2003, he obtained a Master of Business Administration in military and strategic leadership from Touro University and a Master of National Security and Resource Management from the National Defense University in 2013. He attended the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth College in 2019.
With intentions of giving back to the community, Mr. O’Grady worked as a kitchen food server at the Catholic Charities Diocese of Arlington and in character and leadership development for the Travis Monaion Foundation between 2019 and 2022. He presently participates as an innovation advisory committee member at Texas A&M University, a board member for the National Security Innovation Council, a board member for the Lone Star Chapter of the National Defense Industry Association, a business coach for MassChallenge, and as a Sir Knight of the Knights of Columbus.
