In her role, her responsibilities include providing vocal rehab services in conjunction with the court system, working with juveniles, conducting anger management and substance abuse classes, and tutoring during the summer. She began her career as a training consultant at Convergys from 2002 to 2007. At Georgia Legal Services Program, she served as a private attorney involvement coordinator and intake paralegal from 2007 to 2011. She has garnered a stellar reputation as a Money Smart trainer and facilitator at the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation since 2010.
Before embarking on her professional path, Ms. Thomas pursued an education and accrued an associate’s degree in criminal justice. She continued her academic efforts at Valdosta State University, graduating with a Bachelor of Arts in legal assistant studies, political science, and public administration. She is currently pursuing a Master of Business Administration degree.
Beyond her responsibilities within the field, Ms. Thomas has participated in numerous endeavors outside of her professional circles. She held the role of board chairwoman of the Lowndes/Valdosta Commission for Children and Youth, Inc. since 2013. At the Georgia Department of Community Affairs, she performed the duties of a Georgia-certified HUD homebuyer education counselor. She held executive roles at Keeping Lowndes Valdosta Beautiful, Georgians for Prosperity, the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Program of the Internal Revenue Service, and Jack and Jill of America.
In addition to her primary vocation, Ms. Thomas remains affiliated with various organizations in relation to her areas of expertise. She was a member of the National Council of Negro Women, Inc., the National Association of Black MBA Holders, the National Tax Association, the National Society of Accountants, the National Society of Leadership and Success, and the American Society of Notaries. In light of her impressive undertakings, she has accrued several accolades throughout her career. She was presented with the Pepsi Georgia Stronger Together Community Service Award in 2021.
In the immediate future, Ms. Thomas intends to obtain her doctorate. She seeks to continue perfecting the tax and financial planning sides of her business. Moreover, she aims to purchase the building the business operates in and improve the services they offer.
