James Harold Depoyster Jr.

Title: Senior Director of North American Operations
Company: Hach Company
Location: Athens, Alabama, United States

James Harold Depoyster Jr., senior director of North American operations at Hach Company, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Executives for dedication, achievements, and leadership in lean manufacturing and supply chain strategy.

Affiliated with Hach Company, Mr. Depoyster is a Senior Director of North American Operations responsible for managing the company’s chemical manufacturing plant and distribution center. In a noteworthy role, he is tasked with Hach’s overall distribution strategy throughout North America. Headquartered in Loveland, Colorado, Hach is recognized as a global company and wholly-owned subsidiary of Veralto Corporation. The organization manufactures and distributes analytical instruments and reagents, providing water quality, treatment, and management solutions.

Beginning his career in operations in 1991, initially with the U.S. Navy and then with FedEx Ground, Mr. Depoyster was subsequently hired by Dell in 2000 as an operations manager, then as a continuous improvement manager between 2000 and 2010. While employed with the computer electronics company, he contributed to its international shipping system, which had previously taken 48 to 72 hours to process, causing delays in order fulfillment. Mr. Depoyster initiated a project to implement a value string concept, which involved the isolation and segregation of work and resulted in a processing time of under 24 hours. It also halted the need for outsourcing the shipment process and significant cost savings. Among other noteworthy organizations, he found success with CEVA Logistics, Danaher Corporation, and Beck Coulter Diagnostics.

Looking toward the future, Mr. Depoyster plans to retire in the next 10 years. In the meantime, his goal is to develop the next generation of leaders for Hach and Veralto.

Mr. Depoyster honorably served his country in the U.S. Navy for four years to the rank of an E-5. He graduated from Birmingham-Southern College in 1989 with a Bachelor of Arts in History and from Troy University in 1994 with a Master of Public Administration. While in college, he joined the Sigma Alpha Epsilon Fraternity and the Phi Alpha Theta History Honor Society.

Mr. Depoyster noted that his educational background in history gave him the discipline, critical thinking skills, and problem-solving abilities to excel in his industry. He also credits his time in the military for providing him with a solid foundation in the standard work process.
