Marty J. McNeal, retired prosecutor investigator at Steuben County, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Executives for dedication, achievements, and leadership in law enforcement.

With 40 years of experience to his credit, Mr. McNeal excelled as a prosecutor investigator in Steuben County, Indiana from 1990 to 2023, at which time he retired. His role was akin to that of a detective, and he specialized in major crime investigations. He began his career as Marshall of the town of Fremont from 1974 to 1976. At the Steuben County Sheriff’s Office, he was active as a detective and deputy sheriff from 1976 to 1989. He found success as the administrator of Fremont Moose Lodge 2387 from 2014 to 2016.

Before embarking on his professional path, Mr. McNeal pursued an education at the Indiana Law Enforcement Academy in the State of Indiana in 1975. Beyond his responsibilities within the field, he has participated in numerous endeavors outside of his professional circles. He contributed to the Fremont Union High School District board of trustees as president and school trustee from 2014 to 2023.

In addition to his primary vocation, Mr. McNeal remains affiliated with various organizations in relation to his areas of expertise. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge, the Fremont Moose Lodge, and the American Legion. In light of his impressive undertakings, he has accrued several accolades throughout his career. He was recognized as a volunteer of the year and presented with the Drug Free Indiana Award.

Mr. McNeal considers his most notable achievement to be creating a training program that he administered for 10 years, which has saved many lives. Furthermore, he is proud of his multifaceted career in law enforcement and the opportunities he had to work as the head of the sex crimes unit, serving on a drug task force, and working undercover.

Mr. McNeal’s earliest professional ambition was to pursue a career in law enforcement. He knew since he was a child that he wanted to be a police officer. Presently, he advises individuals interested in the field to pursue higher education as it has become a requirement, and to appreciate the value of hard work. While a career in law enforcement has not yielded him high financial rewards, it has been a personally fulfilling endeavor for him as he has a passion for protecting and serving others.
