Who's Who of Top Executives

Terry L. Buchholz

Title: Owner
Company: Venue 1883
Location: Plattsmouth, Nebraska, United States

Terry L. Buchholz, owner of Venue 1883, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Executives for dedication, achievements, and leadership in event hosting.

With 39 years of experience to his credit, Mr. Buchholz has excelled as owner of Venue 1883 since 2021. Venue 1883 operates a historic farm that was originally erected in 1883 and features the limestone structures common to Nebraska. He personally oversaw the renovations and enhancements of the facility, which specializes in hosting weddings, private parties, corporate gatherings, and other personal and professional events. He predominantly works by himself, managing the facility’s responsibilities single-handedly, though he occasionally works with subcontractors when needed.

Mr. Buchholz began his career as a cabinet maker, project manager, and superintendent for a general contractor before garnering a stellar reputation as the owner of Unlimited Innovations. He is skilled in plumbing, electrical installation and maintenance, design, venue management, and catering. Before embarking on his professional path, he graduated from Macomb High School.

Mr. Buchholz is the third owner of the property, which includes the barn built in 1883 and the home built in 1876. The Propst family were the original owners, who sold it to the Meisinger family, who in turn sold it to Mr. Buchholz. It is his intention to honor the former owners and maintain the farm in a manner that respects its history and architectural conventions. He first discovered the facility when he visited a farm to buy furniture. Initially, he purchased property near the farm on which to construct a home, and later, he purchased the entire farm and renovated it into a professional hosting location.

Mr. Buchholz attributes his success to his honesty, integrity, fairness, and hard work. He considers the love his customers have of the barn and the satisfaction they derive from their experiences on the grounds as his most notable achievement. He is also particularly proud of his daughters. In the immediate future, he would like to continue to help people, manage Venue 1883, expand on its successes, engage with his hobbies which include riding his motorcycle and boating, and spend more time with his partner of nine years.
