Jeffrey N. Gomer, chief financial officer at KCCDD, Inc. and professor at Knox College, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Executives for dedication, achievements, and leadership in higher education and finance.
With over 30 years of experience to his credit, Mr. Gomer has excelled as chief financial officer at KCCDD, Inc. since 1991. KCCDD, Inc. is a nonprofit organization that serves adults with mental retardation and/or physical disabilities with programs such as adult day services for people that are 55 and above, who usually have Alzheimer’s, dementia, and/or physical disabilities. He began his career as an adjunct professor in accounting at the Carl Sandburg College from 1998 to 2018. At Knox College, he established himself as a visiting instructor of business and management from 2016 to 2022 and as a professor of practice since 2022.
Before embarking on his professional path, Mr. Gomer pursued an education at Western Illinois University, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in finance in 1985. He continued his academic efforts at the same, graduating with a Master of Business Administration in 1989 and then a bachelor’s degree in accounting in 1992. He holds certifications as an internal auditor, a financial manager, a business manager, and a management accountant. He holds a leadership silver level certification from the Institute of Management Accountants.
In addition to his primary vocation, Mr. Gomer remains affiliated with various organizations in relation to his areas of expertise. He was a member of the Institute of Management Accountants and the Association of Professionals in Business Management. He sat on the board of directors with the Institute of Internal Auditors Inc.
In light of his impressive undertakings, Mr. Gomer has accrued several accolades throughout his career. He was presented with the David Robertson Fan of the Year Award from Knox College in 2023. He attributes his success and accomplishments to his talent for connecting with people and communicating effectively. He credits his skill in this regard to his mother.
When Mr. Gomer was in his 20s, a vice president of a local bank asked him to become an assistant controller. He saw this as a great opportunity but ultimately decided not to remain with the business. He joined KCCDD, Inc. in 1991 and has been working there ever since. He considers accruing his education to be his most notable achievement. He has earned multiple degrees and certifications, two of which are considered in the big three of the accounting profession.
