Sue Hare, Chief Executive Officer at iSPACE STEM, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Executives for dedication, achievements, and leadership in education and engineering administration.
With decades of experience to her credit, Ms. Hare has excelled as the chief executive officer of iSPACE STEM since 2024. She was previously active at the aforementioned company as the education director from 2011 to 2020 and the executive director from 2020 to 2024. Ms. Hare began her career in the Aviation Department at General Electric between 1983 and 2011, working in the CFM56 compressor design from 1983 to 1987, CF6 systems integration from 1985 to 2007, and CF6 certification and integration from 2010 to 2011.
Before embarking on her professional path, Ms. Hare pursued an education at West Virginia University, from which she earned a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering in 1985. She concluded her studies at Mount Vernon Nazarene University in 2009, graduating with a master’s degree. Ms. Hare was inspired to enter her field by her father, a field service engineer, and a high school mathematics teacher, both of whom encouraged her to work hard to obtain her goals.
Beyond her primary responsibilities, Ms. Hare has participated in numerous endeavors outside of her professional circles. Involved with her local church’s festival committee for 15 years, she has contributed as a volunteer choir member for St. John Neumann Catholic Church and a volunteer judge for the For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology (FIRST) Robotics competition. She also remains affiliated with various organizations in relation to her areas of expertise, including the Society of Women Engineers, the National Education Association, and the Association of Fundraising Professionals. In light of her impressive undertakings, Ms. Hare has accrued several accolades throughout her career, including recognition among The Enquirer Women of the Year in 2022 and the Six Women in STEM in 2024.
Ms. Hare has attributed her success to her unwavering determination, her unshakable faith and a strong support system that includes her friends, family and coworkers. Among her many accomplishments, she is incredibly proud to have guided iSPACE: The STEM Learning Place through the unprecedented challenges posed by the COVID-19 Pandemic, rallying her team of dedicated professionals to beat the odds and keep the company afloat through summer camps, mini-concerts and fundraising efforts. In the coming years, Ms. Hare hopes to prepare for her eventual retirement while spearheading a capital campaign to fund an extensive expansion of the organization’s building for iSPACE which is intended to provide an even more comprehensive and immersive STEM learning experience for students of all ages.
