Rev. Timothy James Mercaldo, founder and executive director at Worship Plus, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Executives for dedication, achievements, and leadership in nonprofit management, fundraising, stewardship, and recruitment.
With nearly 40 years of experience to his credit, Rev. Mercaldo has excelled as founder and director of Worship Plus since 2022. He began his career with Gateway Church as an associate pastor from 1986 to 2019 and a senior pastor from 2015 to 2019. Concurrently, he contributed to Gateway Community Outreach as chief executive officer and founder from 2004 to 2019. He was active as an associate pastor at The Naples Gathering from 2021 to 2022. He has found additional success as a consultant at Impact Stewardship Resources since 2019 and at Dwight Whitworth and Company LLC since 2023.
Before embarking on his professional path, Rev. Mercaldo pursued an education at The King’s College, where he completed history coursework in 1983. He continued his academic efforts at Moody Bible Institute, obtaining a Bachelor of Arts in theology, minoring in Koine Greek, in 1986. He received an interdisciplinary Master of Apologetics, Leadership, Philosophy, and Religious Studies at Liberty University in 2019. He concluded his studies at Trevecca Nazarene University, graduating with a master’s degree in worship studies and leadership development in 2023.
Beyond his responsibilities within the field, Rev. Mercaldo has contributed to the Rotary International District as a community networker, professional musician, speaker, and activist from 2007 to 2019. Moreover, he served as a pianist at Lorenzo’s Restaurant, Bar & Cabaret. In addition to his primary vocation, he has been a clergy member of the Union League Club since 2018.
In light of his impressive undertakings, Rev. Mercaldo was recognized for his long-standing contributions to the church, specifically in music, by both his local church and unity organizations within several church denominations. He published two Christmas recordings which are available on Spotify, Apple Music, and YouTube. In the coming years, he is considering pursuing his doctoral degree and expanding Worship Plus. Additionally, he envisions pursuing a political position, settling in Manhattan with his wife, and traveling internationally.
