Garry N. Cathell, executive director at the Pennsylvania Scholastic Football Coaches Association (PSFCA)-Big 33, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Executives for dedication, achievements, and leadership in football coaching.
With more than 30 years of experience to his credit, Mr. Cathell has excelled as executive director of the PSFCA-Big 33 since 2017 and has been affiliated with the organization for more than 35 years. In his current role, he talks to companies, politicians, and others to help them develop and highlight their players and coaches. Earlier in his career, he worked as a teacher and football coach before retiring. He found success as chief executive officer at RAW Health International from 2013 to 2015.
Before embarking on his professional path, Mr. Cathell pursued an education at Pennsylvania Western University, where he earned an administrative degree. He continued his academic efforts at Indiana University of Pennsylvania, graduating with a bachelor’s degree in health and physical education and fitness in 1978. Beyond his responsibilities within the field, he has participated in numerous endeavors outside of his professional circles, including the National High School Football Coaches Alliance.
In light of his impressive undertakings, Mr. Cathell has accrued several accolades throughout his career. He was inducted into the Butler Athletic Hall of Fame at Butler University in 2014 and the Pennsylvania Scholastic Football Coaches Hall of Fame in 2013. In the coming years, he intends to continue growing Big 33 and creating better opportunities for coaches, athletes, and student-athletes at the Pennsylvania Scholastic Football Coaches Association.
