He began his career as a general manager at Pitney Bowes from 1983 to 1998. He found success as vice president of Paragon Tracking Systems in 1998 before transitioning to the role of account executive for Overnite Express Parcel Service from 1999 to 2000.

Mr. Barton continued his career as director of operations at Equitrac from 2001 to 2003. He established himself as a professional services manager at IKON Office Solutions from 2003 to 2005. At Internet Sell, he garnered a stellar reputation as owner from 2005 to 2007. He has been an adjunct professor at California State University San Marcos since 2023. His areas of expertise include sales management and cultivating opportunities and revenue streams in new markets.

Before embarking on his professional path, Mr. Barton pursued an education at the University of Southern California, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in psychology in 1984. He concluded his studies at California State University San Marcos College of Business, graduating with a Master of Business Administration in 2007. He was certified as a Six Sigma Black Belt through IKON Office Solutions in 2005.

Beyond his responsibilities within the field, Mr. Barton has participated in numerous endeavors outside of his professional circles. At the California State University San Marcos, he contributed to the dean’s advisory council within the College of Business Administration, was a project volunteer for the Master of Business Administration Masters Experience Program and Cougar Connect Mentor, and served as a mentor for the Alumni Association. He was a mentor with the University of Southern California Alumni Association, a board member of the University of Southern California Trojan Club of San Diego and the Trojan Athletic Fund San Diego, and president of the University of Southern California San Diego Alumni Club. He volunteered with the LPGA Kia Classic Women’s Golf Tournament from 2010 to 2016.

In addition to his primary vocation, Mr. Barton remains affiliated with various organizations in relation to his areas of expertise. He was a member of the Southern California Golfer’s Club, the University of Southern California Club, the United States Golf Association, the United States Tennis Association, the University of Southern California Alumni Association, and the California State University San Marcos Alumni Association. He considers the large number of people he has positively impacted and influenced as his most significant career accomplishment. In the immediate future, he intends to expand the Latin American market for his division.
