Warren H. Harper Sr., ARM, global sports and events practice leader and managing director of Marsh LLC, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Executives for dedication, achievements, and leadership in insurance.
With 45 years of experience to his credit, Mr. Harper has excelled as a global sports & events industry practice leader and managing director of Marsh LLC since 2000. He began his career in the insurance industry in 1979. At Sentry Insurance, he found success as director of commercial lines from 1987 to 1992.
Mr. Harper continued his career as director of risk management of the Atlanta Committee for the Olympic Games from 1992 to 1997. He was active as senior vice president of American Specialty Risk Management Services from 1997 to 1998. At ASU Risk Management LLC, he found success as president from 1998 to 2000.
Before embarking on his professional path, Mr. Harper pursued an education at the Insurance Institute of America, where he earned an associate degree in risk management in 1990. He concluded his studies at Brown University, graduating with a Bachelor of Arts in urban studies and economics in 1977. He holds a certificate of achievement from the Emergency Management Institute at the State of Georgia Integrated Emergency Management Institute.
Beyond his responsibilities within the field, Mr. Harper has participated in numerous endeavors outside of his professional circles. He held executive and leadership positions with the Sports and Entertainment Risk Management Alliance, the Atlanta Youth Academy, the Georgia Pet Coalition, and the Corporate Leadership Council at Fernbank Museum. He served as a guest speaker at the Atlanta Insurance Day, the Wharton Business School, the Qatar Sports International Conference, and the Beijing Olympic Forum on the Construction and Operation of Olympic Venues.
In addition to his primary vocation, Mr. Harper remains affiliated with various organizations in relation to his areas of expertise. He was a member of the World Affairs Council of Atlanta and the Corporate Leadership Council of Fernbank Museum. He contributed as a trustee to the Atlanta Youth Academy. In light of his impressive undertakings, he has accrued several accolades throughout his career. He was recognized as a power broker in sports entertainment by the Risk Insurance Magazine in 2009.
