As an area supervisor for the state of Kansas, she organizes and leads volleyball clinics aimed at training new officials.
Before embarking on her professional path, Ms. Woody pursued an education at Colby Community College, where she earned an associate’s degree in physical education, minoring in music and psychology, in 1976. Beyond her responsibilities within the field, she has participated in numerous endeavors outside of her professional circles. She contributed as a sponsor to children in Africa. Moreover, she served as an audio equipment and kitchen manager at her local church.
In addition to her primary vocation, Ms. Woody remains affiliated with various organizations in relation to her areas of expertise. She was a member of the Kansas State High School Activities Association and the National Federation of State High School Associations. She started her journey as a sports official for volleyball before later expanding her repertoire to include football, basketball, and wrestling. Her progression to officiating high school competitions was hindered by rejections from various leagues that cited unpreparedness for a female official in their ranks. In the immediate future, she intends to inspire and encourage individuals to pursue officiating as a profession.
