Homer A. Perez, owner and sole proprietor of Homer A. Perez, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Executives for dedication, achievements, and leadership in architecture and design.

With 28 years of experience to his credit, Mr. Perez has excelled as owner and sole proprietor of Homer A. Perez AIA since 2023. His company provides consulting services for green and commercial buildings. He began his career as an intern architect on the planning and design team at H-E-B, LP from 1996 to 2001.

Mr. Perez contributed to the McCall Design Group as a design manager from 2001 to 2004 and an associate from 2004 to 2011. He continued his career at Moss Holding Company as director of retail design from 2011 to 2015. At Sephora, he established himself as a senior store design manager and an architect for the store development department from 2015 to 2023.

Before embarking on his professional path, Mr. Perez pursued an education at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in architectural design in 1993. He holds a certification from the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards, is a LEED-accredited professional with a concentration in building design and construction from the United Latino Students Association, and is a licensed architect.

Beyond his responsibilities within the field, Mr. Perez has participated in numerous endeavors outside of his professional circles. He was featured in many articles and publications, including “Westsider = Achiever,” published in Latinas in Architecture and Allies Vol. II, “Homer A. Perez: SEPHORA Design Excellence Fosters Growth,” published in By Design, “Green Beauty,” published in the San Francisco DDI Magazine, “Greening the Retail and Hospitality Industries,” published in Green Business Quarterly, “LEED Lessons Learned,” published in the Retail Contractors Association Newsletter, and “Retail Remedy: McCall Design Group Injects a Dose of Sustainability into Elephant Pharm — Just What the Client Ordered.”

In addition to his primary vocation, Mr. Perez remains affiliated with various organizations in relation to his areas of expertise. He was a member of the Chicano Architectural Student Association, Arquitina, and the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards. He held the role of co-founder of Latinx in Architecture with the American Institute of Architects and is a board member of the Portola Neighborhood Association in San Francisco.

In light of his impressive undertakings, Mr. Perez has accrued several accolades throughout his career. He was presented with the San Francisco Community Alliance Award from the American Institute of Architects in 2018 and was named to the Top 20 Under 40 by ENR California in 2011. Among his most notable career accomplishments, he is particularly proud to have completed a complex retail pilot program called the Elephant Pharmacy project.

In the coming years, Mr. Perez intends to retire from his field before the age of 60. At this point, he will consider pursuing a new career focused on the affordable housing sector. He plans to continue his efforts as a mentor, as he values giving back to his community and contributing to future generations. Moreover, he will continue working with a nonprofit organization in San Antonio.
