With 13 years of experience to his credit, Mr. Lepchitz has excelled as a hydrologist and site regulatory specialist at the U.S. Department of Energy since 2024. In this role, he is responsible for ensuring that contractors comply with all federal, state, and local environmental regulations, with a primary focus on safeguarding the environment and preventing any potential harm to human health. Prior to this position, he was active as a level-2 geotechnical specialist at Edgewater Technical Associates LLC from 2023 to 2024. Previously, he served as the operations manager at Helion Industries, part of the Hyperion International Holdings Group, from 2020 to 2023. He began his career as a project control engineer at Arkel International in 2011.
Before embarking on his professional path, Mr. Lepchitz pursued an education at the University of Mississippi, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in geological and geophysical engineering in 2011 and a Master of Science in geological and geophysical engineering, with an emphasis on hydrology, in 2019. He continued his academic efforts by completing coursework for small businesses and English at Lone Star College.
Beyond his responsibilities within the field, Mr. Lepchitz has contributed to Engineers Without Borders and served as a board member for The Charlie King Scholarship. Additionally, he enjoys spending time with his family, golfing, participating in competitive BBQ, and supporting the Ole Miss Rebels Football team. In light of his impressive undertakings, he has accrued several accolades throughout his career, including being recognized as the Recipient of the Charlie King Award from the University of Mississippi in 2019 and Teaching Assistant of the Year at the same institution. Looking ahead, Mr. Lepchitz aims to complete his professional licensures as a geologist and engineer. His advice to fellow professionals aspiring to work in his industry is to continuously pursue knowledge and experience without restricting themselves to a specific role.
