With over two decades of experience in technology and strategic business management, Mr. Guilfoyle has distinguished himself as a transformative leader in the technology sector. He has excelled in his current position as the president of Activity Connection since 2020. The company is dedicated to supporting senior living activity staff by providing resources for activity professionals and programs for seniors that positively impact nearly 1.5 million lives each month. In this role, he oversees all internal and customer-facing technology divisions, strategizes digital marketing initiatives to expand the organization’s reach, and drives client and subscriber acquisition efforts. Before assuming his current leadership position, Mr. Guilfoyle served as the director of technical services at Activity Connection from 2018 to 2020, where he established the foundation for the company’s technological advancements. In 2013, he founded MJGuilfoyle LLC, a company dedicated to providing customized energy efficiency and decarbonization solutions aimed at fostering an emissions-free industrial sector. He led this company as principal and digital producer until 2020. His earlier role as IT director at Cascade Energy Inc., from 2006 to 2013, was marked by substantial growth, with the company experiencing a more than 600% increase in scale and achieving significant reductions in industrial carbon emissions.

Mr. Guilfoyle began his professional journey in technology after completing his Bachelor of Science in business information systems from Eastern Illinois University in 2001. He has also diligently pursued and acquired a diverse range of professional certifications to enhance his expertise and stay abreast of the latest developments in digital marketing and technology.

In 2024, Mr. Guilfoyle achieved certifications in Google Analytics, content marketing and social media from HubSpot. He also completed a professional certificate in digital marketing from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University and received the Google ads search certification from the Google Digital Academy. Earlier in his career, he expanded his multimedia and project management capabilities by completing the Multimedia Professional Program in 2012 and the Project Management Cohort in 2011, both at Portland State University.

Outside of his professional life, Mr. Guilfoyle is deeply committed to his personal interests in agriculture and the outdoors, owning and operating Flowers and Oak Farm. His aspirations include cultivating the French truffle, tuber melanosporum. Moreover, he actively supports charitable causes, particularly those related to environmental conservation, such as the Restoring Salmon Habitat Along the Toutle River project by the Lower Columbia Fish Enhancement Group.

Mr. Guilfoyle attributes his professional success to a combination of respect for others, keeping his word, and a touch of luck. His vision for the future includes expanding Activity Connection’s impact by integrating charitable work into the company’s ethos and continuing to innovate within the senior caregiving industry. A lifelong learner and competitor, he is driven by a relentless pursuit of excellence and a commitment to positively impacting both the industry and the broader community.
