In this role, he is responsible for the business operations, marketing, commercial business services, and guest experience at the company’s self-check-in properties and excursions in the mountains of Hanksville, Utah. Additionally, he serves as the principal of enterprise architecture, platform architecture, and business development at H&R Block, HRB Digital LLC, a role he has occupied since 2021.

Prior to his current positions, Mr. Cahoon was the director of enterprise architecture at H&R Block, HRB Digital LLC from 2017 to 2021. During this period, he also collaborated with Pinpoint and Continental AG.

At H&R Block, Mr. Cahoon implemented AI using IBM Watson and submitted a patent invention called “labeling.” Rather than seeking financial gain from his invention, his primary goal is to utilize the patent to promote responsible AI development. By potentially pursuing infringement cases, he hopes to encourage ethical and accountable AI practices. In addition, he penned “Patentee, Interface for Artificial Intelligence Training” in 2024 and is working on a book on linguistic and semantic architecture.

Throughout his career, Mr. Cahoon has successfully launched multiple startups, playing a pivotal role in their development by defining the critical components and architecture necessary for their success. His career is underscored by his dedication to innovation and the integration of artificial intelligence into various fields. He attributes his success to an insatiable curiosity and a profound appreciation for empathy and faith, which have guided his actions and shaped his perspectives. He also regards his most important accomplishment as his enduring marriage and the joy and fulfillment brought by raising four children over the past 30 years.

Before embarking on his professional path, Mr. Cahoon pursued an education at the University of Missouri-Kansas City, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in liberal arts in 2007. He continued his academic efforts at the Henry W. Bloch School of Management at the same university, where he concluded his studies with a Master of Business Administration in entrepreneurial studies in 2012.

Looking ahead, Mr. Cahoon aspires to contribute to environmental conservation and support vulnerable communities. He is committed to addressing the challenges posed by human impact on the environment and empowering those who are often marginalized by societal structures. To those aspiring to work in his industry, he advises that AI is going to completely change the world and that we must be vigilant and resilient. He adds that we should take AI at face value and then build upon that.
