Prior to this, Ms. Carswell served as a partner at Blue Earth Communications from 2010 to 2014 and as the chief marketing officer at Evergreen Films from 2009 to 2010. She also held the position of senior vice president of brand strategy and business development at Hauser Marketing Group from 1997 to 2007. 

Ms. Carswell began her career with a strong foundation in marketing and media, which has allowed her to contribute significantly to the industry. Additionally, she has been a member of the Global Advisory Board for the Blue Ocean Film Festival since 2007, demonstrating her ongoing commitment to environmental media and conservation efforts.

Before embarking on her professional path, Ms. Carswell pursued an education at Jacksonville State University, earning a Bachelor of Arts in arts and communications in 1981. She furthered her academic efforts with coursework at Auburn University. Additionally, she has completed certifications in health care social media trends and strategies from the Society for Health Care Strategy and Market Development of The American Hospital Association.

Throughout her career, Ms. Carswell’s most notable achievement has been co-founding the Blue Ocean Film Festival. The festival was instrumental in inspiring a new generation of filmmakers dedicated to educating the world on critical issues such as climate change and habitat destruction. It brought in networks to teach storytelling techniques that captivate audiences and motivate them to take action. Filmmakers learned how to convey their messages effectively, growing under the festival’s guidance. 

In addition to her primary vocation, Ms. Carswell remains actively involved in various organizations. She supports the United Way and provides free services to the community. Her professional affiliations include membership in the Society for Healthcare Strategy and Market Development.

In light of her impressive undertakings, Ms. Carswell has accrued several accolades throughout her career. She has received numerous Emmy nominations and many regional awards. Notably, she was presented with the Gold Award for Best Television Campaign in Hospital Marketing in 2018 and the Platinum Adrian Award for Digital Marketing from the Hospitality Sales and Marketing Association International in 2016. Additionally, she received a National Daytime Emmy Nomination for Best Travel Program from The Academy of Television Arts and Sciences in 2015 and the Max Award for the Wild American Shrimp Campaign in 2006.

Ms. Carswell attributes her success to her unwavering determination and unique ability to blend strategic thinking with creativity.
