With decades of experience to his credit, Mr. Brodkorb has excelled as the president, owner, and principal consultant with REB Management Company, a management consulting company operating in the manufacturing, aerospace, defense, electronics, and engineering industries, since 1992. Prior to these positions, he was active as the founder and chief executive officer of the Decision Planning Corporation between 1971 and 1991. He previously served as the director of the consulting division for Speidel Enterprise Inc. in Pomona, California, from 1970 to 1972. Mr. Brodkorb began his career in the Space Systems Division of the U.S. Air Force, having advanced to the captain of the deputy program control and chief of the Titan III system program office between 1964 and 1970.
To support his professional ambitions, Mr. Brodkorb pursued an education at Southern Illinois University, Carbondale, from which he initially earned a Bachelor of Science in accounting and chemistry with minors in mathematics, physics, and management in 1964. He concluded his studies at the aforementioned university in 1967, graduating with a Master of Science in industrial management and operations research. Following these accomplishments, Mr. Brodkorb obtained his certification as a management consultant.
Beyond his primary responsibilities, Mr. Brodkorb has participated in numerous endeavors outside of his immediate circles. From 1997 to 2017, he provided his wealth of expertise to students at the University of California, Irvine as an instructor. He was subsequently recruited as the vice president and practice lead for earned value management with SM&A between 2007 and 2012. Mr. Brodkorb has found further success at Southern Illinois University, Carbondale, as the chairman of the External Advisory Board to the Managment School of the College of Business and Analytics since 2016 and a member of the Dean’s External Advisory Board for the College of Business and Analytics since 2017.

In addition to his primary vocation, Mr. Brodkorb remains associated with various organizations in relation to his areas of expertise. Since 1979, he has contributed as a member of the Project Management Institute. Moreover, he has remained involved with the College of Performance Management since 1988. Mr. Brodkorb has also been affiliated with the Institute of Management Consultants USA (IMC USA).
Mr. Brodkorb has attributed his success to his stellar education and the steadfast support that he received over the course of his military service. He is also driven by the sense of satisfaction, accomplishment and enjoyment that he garners through encountering challenges and helping others to achieve their objectives. Mr. Brodkorb is incredibly grateful for the love and selflessness of his wife, who stepped up as a parent to their young ones during the nascent years of his career while he was required to travel around the U.S., Europe and Australia to meet with his clients.
Initially debating a career as a chemical engineer, Mr. Brodkorb discovered he had an inherent talent with numbers and recognized that there had been a rising demand for managing large programs and projects, which inspired him to shift his attention to accounting while still being able to serve clients in the fields of technology and engineering. Among the highlights of his career, he fondly recalls thriving with Decision Planning Corporation to the point where his team consisted of more than 125 professional consultants. Likewise, Mr. Brodkorb is incredibly proud of his outstanding track record with assisting nearly 25 percent of the companies listed in the Fortune 100 across five different continents.
Looking toward the future, Mr. Brodkorb hopes to maintain the success of his business by capitalizing on opportunities within his ever-evolving field while expanding upon his current responsibilities. Having built an extensive network of professionals in his industry, he hopes to enter a well-deserved retirement in the coming years as well. With friends around the globe from the numerous vacations he has taken throughout his lifetime, Mr. Brodkorb hopes to continue traveling with his wife in his spare time once his consulting days are behind him.
