Antonio F. Fernandez, president of AFF Advisors LLC, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Executives for dedication, achievements, and leadership in supply chain and operations excellence.
With four decades of experience, Mr. Fernandez has excelled in his work in the food and beverage industry. After retiring in 2016, he started his own consulting firm, AFF Advisors LLC. In this role, he consults with companies, to improve their operations by developing effective supply chain strategies, providing organizational and operational assessments, conducting supply network optimization analyses, and supporting M & A due diligence. Concurrently, he worked as a senior advisor with McKinsey & Company, an American multinational strategy and management consulting firm that offers professional services to corporations, governments, and other organizations, from 2017 to 2019.
Mr. Fernandez served as chief supply chain officer at Pinnacle Foods Inc. from 2011 to 2016, senior vice president of operations excellence with Kraft Foods from 2010 to 2011, chief supply chain officer at Cadbury PLC from 2008 to 2010, and executive vice president of supply chain for the Americas with Cadbury Adams from 2006 to 2008. His earlier roles included executive vice president of global shared business services at Cadbury PLC from 2003 to 2006 and senior vice president of global process design from 2000 to 2003. He was also senior vice president of technical and concentrate operations for North America with Dr. Pepper/Seven Up from 1998 to 2000, vice president of operations for Mexico and Central America with PepsiCo from 1996 to 1998, senior director of procurement for bottling and packaging technology, director of returnable packaging and group manager of engineering at Pepsi-Cola International from 1991 to 1996. Additionally, he was a management consultant and senior associate at The Canaan Group from 1989 to 1991, field operations manager at Pepsi-Cola USA from 1983 to 1987, and department manager and production supervisor at Procter & Gamble from 1981 to 1983.
Additionally, Mr. Fernandez serves on numerous public, private and non-profit boards. He is a member of the board of directors of Catholic Charities of Fairfield County, CT since 2024, the board of directors of Seton Collaborative, Diocese of Bridgeport, Connecticut since 2021, the board of directors with Utz Brands Inc. since 2020, board of directors with Americold Realty Trust Inc. since 2019, and board of trustees with Lafayette College since 2017. He is also a member of the American Institute of Chemical Engineers, the National Association of Corporate Directors, and the Latino Corporate Directors Association. Prior to these professional and personal accomplishments, Mr. Fernandez laid a solid foundation for his future success by pursuing an education at Lafayette College, graduating with a Bachelor of Science in chemical engineering in 1981.
A standout moment in Mr. Fernandez’s career was his time as chief supply chain officer for Cadbury and Pinnacle Foods, where he played a pivotal role in growing the market value of both companies through the commercialization of product innovation, implementation of productivity improvement initiatives, and expansion into new markets. Additionally, travel was a significant part of his job, with 70% to 80% of his time spent visiting international operations at Cadbury and traveling across the US visiting Pinnacle Foods facilities, which he believes gives him a unique perspective on managing global business operations and multi-national/remote teams. He attributes his success to the support of his family, the guidance of his mentors and his personal ambition and determination, which was instilled in him by his parents, who were Cuban immigrants. In the coming years, he plans to remain productive post-retirement and to continue serving on various boards, mentoring minority students and young adults, promoting Latino representation on public boards and his involvement with various charities.
