Ms. Hightower began her professional journey as an operator with Ohio Bell in Youngstown, Ohio, from 1964 to 1967. Demonstrating her exceptional skills, she advanced through the ranks at Ohio Bell to become a supervisor and a service observer between 1969 and 1971. She was subsequently appointed by Ohio Bell as group chief operator from 1972 to 1979 and the marketing director from 1972 to 1982. Her tenure at Ohio Bell culminated in her position as an assistant manager from 1982 to 1984. Ms. Hightower was additionally active as the financial chairman for the Republican Women of Youngstown, Ohio and both the director and credit chairman for Saints Savings and Trust.
Since 2022, Ms. Hightower has excelled as a success job coach with Compass Family Services, a post that she has acknowledged as particularly fulfilling. In this role, she focuses on enhancing the community by enriching the lives of her clients, drawing on her own personal experiences and personal values to instill in them the confidence and resilience needed to face the world.
