Laying a foundation for his future successes, he earned a Bachelor of Science from The University of Iowa in 1973 and a private pilot’s license from the Federal Aviation Administration that same year. Additionally, he earned his real estate broker’s license from the United Latino Students Association and is an ordained elder.

Mr. Burroughs’ civic contributions include roles such as community outreach vice president and chapter executive vice president for the Mile High Chapter 127 of the Air Force Association since 2017, and executive vice president of the Air Force Association since 1995. He served on the board of the local licensing authority for the City of Aurora from 1991 to 1997, was past president of the Aurora Republican Forum from 1995 to 1996), and president of the Sky Hill Band Boosters from 1994 to 1995. Additionally, he was president of the Coalition of Aurora Neighborhoods from 1986 to 1987, past chairman of the local licensing authority for the City of Aurora, president of the Pheasant Run Homeowners Association, and past vice president of St. Paul’s Presbyterian Church. He is also a dedicated volunteer for local churches and schools and is a member of the Air Force Association.

Mr. Burroughs’ journey into real estate began with a friend’s suggestion, recognizing his potential in the field. After his military service, he worked at the Santa Fe Railroad for nearly two decades but sought more from his free time. He earned his real estate license, balancing both jobs for eight years before transitioning to real estate full-time in 1994. In light of his impressive undertakings, he has achieved notable success in his real estate career, including closing a small commercial property sale worth $2.18 million in 2003. His first property sale was a small commercial job, earning him Salesman of the Month and Closing Agent of the Month in 1986. His awards include multiple recognitions from the Air Force Association, such as the D. W. Steele Award, the National Chapter of the Year, the State President’s Citation Award, and the Medal of Merit. He also earned Salesman of the Year at a local flooring sales company. He attributes his success to his wife’s unwavering support and intellectual adeptness. He advises aspiring professionals that “the harder you work, the luckier you get,” emphasizing working hard and staying dedicated to your pursuits.
