Anthony H. Jackson, CPP, CPD, CCPS, president at Solutions on Safety Inc. and a retired police chief, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Executives for dedication, achievements, and leadership in law enforcement and security.
With more than 50 years of experience in the realm of public safety, Mr. Jackson has leveraged his expertise to provide comprehensive solutions to organizations and communities through his consulting firm since 2020. Offering a collection of services that includes safety measures and management assessment, Solutions on Safety Inc. addresses a range of security challenges for both public and private entities. Mr. Jackson’s proven approach starts with an examination of risks and vulnerabilities, and by conducting a thorough review to identify appropriate enhancements, he enacts customized crime prevention strategies to implement a reliable security system for his clients.
Mr. Jackson’s career in law enforcement began with the acceptance of a dare to take the Cleveland Division of Police examination at the age of 21, resulting in his appointment as a patrolman in 1973. Rising in the ranks through specialized units, including a duration in undercover operations, he subsequently tackled high crime rates and matters of internal discipline as commander of the city’s fourth district. Mr. Jackson became chief of police of the Cuyahoga Metropolitan Housing Authority in 1994, where his efforts to achieve accreditation for the department and oversee its relocation to a state-of-the-art headquarters garnered accolades from the U.S. Senate and Congress. After arriving at Cuyahoga Community College in 2009 as director of the Public Safety Institute, Mr. Jackson secured $11 million in funding to revamp existing properties and establish the institute as an acclaimed training facility for state and federal agencies throughout northeast Ohio. He then transitioned to executive director of emergency management within the Cuyahoga Community College Police Department in 2015, where he spurred additional investments to upgrade security systems across the campus.
Mr. Jackson earned an associate degree from Cuyahoga Community College in 2000, followed by a Bachelor of Arts in criminal justice and law enforcement administration from David N. Myers University in 2007. A graduate of the FBI-Law Enforcement Executive Development Association and the FBI National Academy, he also possesses an NICP CPD certificate and badge from the National Institute of Crime Prevention, and has been named a certified protection professional from ASIS International as well as a certified prevention specialist from the American Crime Prevention Institute. Hailing from a family with a lengthy history of community service, Mr. Jackson mainly operates Solutions on Safety Inc. out of a desire to continue contributing to public safety. He spends much of his free time traveling with his wife, and enjoys flying remote-controlled planes as a hobby.
