Title: President
Company: Fox Mountain Brokerage Inc.
Location: Armonk, New York, United States
Rob Moore, president at Fox Mountain Brokerage Inc., has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Executives for dedication, achievements, and leadership in consulting.
With three and a half decades of experience, Mr. Moore has established a successful career in consulting, specializing in surety bonding—a type of insurance that provides financial guarantees to contractors in the event they fail to pay their vendors or complete a project. He currently excels as president of Fox Mountain Consulting Inc., a role he has held since 2009, and as an agent with North Castle Insurance Agency since 2021.
Mr. Moore’s company is responsible for ensuring that all bills are paid and that projects are completed to the satisfaction of public entities or school districts. In his role, he focuses on administrative tasks, underwriting, and ensuring the proper placement of contractors or manufacturers with suitable surety or insurance companies. His responsibilities include gathering information and assessing the credibility and financial capacity of clients, ranging from smaller to larger bond companies. He emphasizes the importance of matching each account with the appropriate market, a skill he has refined over the years. Initially managing operations independently, he now oversees a team that handles smaller accounts while he personally manages the larger and more complex ones.
Mr. Moore’s other roles have included president of Mosholu Montefiore Community Center from 2001 to 2021 and vice president of surety at Professional Risk Managers, now Brown & Brown, from 1996 to 2003. He also worked with Tanenbaum, NY, and Birch Brook Agency for six years. In addition to his professional roles, he has been active in civic duties, serving as president of the Mosholu Montefiore Community Center. Laying a solid educational foundation, he earned a bachelor’s degree in political science and government from Marist College in 1990. In light of his impressive undertakings, he has been recognized as a Young Leader by the UJA Federation of New York in 2001 and received the “Best of Surety Insurance” award.
Throughout his career, Mr. Moore has discovered that treating people as individuals rather than mere numbers or financial entities is crucial. He emphasizes the importance of active listening to understand clients’ needs and effectively communicating the nuances of the products and services he offers, particularly in bonded work where clients face substantial risks and responsibilities. He finds fulfillment in educating new contractors, especially minority contractors who may have been disadvantaged in the past, about the complexities and potential pitfalls of their projects. He believes in the value of personal interaction and regularly meets clients face-to-face to build trust and ensure clarity in their understanding of the services provided.
Mr. Moore finds the greatest satisfaction in his work when he witnesses clients’ breakthrough moments, where they grasp the complexities of bonded work and financial risks. He takes pride in preemptively educating clients to prevent potential legal issues and protect them from exploitation, particularly minority contractors. He attributes his success to his dedication to teaching, despite his initial uncertainty about pursuing it. He believes that building genuine relationships is the key to success and that his clients are more than just business associates—they are his friends.
Looking to the future, Mr. Moore wants to be a mentor, passing on the trade secrets he has acquired over the years and helping aspiring professionals build strong relationships with clients. Regarding retirement, he plans to gradually step back from his business as he grows older, but he does not envision retiring fully. He enjoys his work and finds it hard to stay away for long periods. He may consider selling his business in the future, but he will always have a passion for the industry and continue to be involved in some way.
