At Anheuser-Busch InBev, he was a senior district sales manager from 2017 to 2020, director of the independent trade market from 2014 to 2016, and senior state of Florida manager high ends from 2012 to 2014. His earlier positions include U.S. regional director at Presidente USA from 1999 to 2012, president of Molina’s Restaurant from 1997 to 1999, and vice president of sales at Eagle Brands Inc. from 1985 to 1997. He also dedicates his time as a facility security officer for public affairs with the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary, a position he has held since 2012.
Laying a solid educational foundation, Mr. Herrera earned a Bachelor of Architecture from Louisiana State University in 1984 and is a certified Six Sigma Green Belt and Six Sigma White Belt. Reflecting on his career, his journey began when he responded to a newspaper ad for a Budweiser distributor, which ultimately led him to embark on a career in the beverage industry. Later in his career, a friend informed him about a business opportunity involving a brand called Presidente, which was being imported from the Dominican Republic to the U.S. He was offered the chance to spearhead the sales efforts for this brand in the U.S. market. Over the course of 14 years, he collaborated with the company and played a pivotal role in transforming the brand’s success, increasing sales from 80,000 cases when he first started to 2.1 million cases by the time Anheuser-Busch acquired the brand. Subsequently, in 2020, Central Beer Import & Export enlisted his expertise to lead the launch of a new brand imported from Guatemala.
Mr. Herrera takes great pride in his remarkable success, having propelled Presidente USA from a distribution of 200,000 cases to 2.4 million. He is also proud of his ability to grow the business in the United States and emphasizes that there is no substitute for knowledge and experience when it comes to achieving success. In the coming years, he aspires to cultivate a career in which he envisions others filling his current role. Guided by his motto, “I lead teams, and I manage the business,” he firmly believes that the brand’s enduring success is attributed to the collective efforts of the team. He is determined to ensure the company’s success and leave a lasting legacy behind, aiming to establish the company’s brand as a leading name in the distribution industry so that people in the United States immediately associate him with distribution. He is also eager to volunteer to join the board of directors for organizations dedicated to improving the lives of vulnerable children, including those who have been trafficked, abused, or neglected.
