Robert “Bob” Martin, JD, MSW, partner at Martin Consulting, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Executives for dedication, achievements, and leadership in legal services and consulting.

With nearly five decades of experience to his credit, Mr. Martin has established a distinguished career as an attorney and educator. He began his legal career working as a major crimes prosecutor for the Janet Reno State Attorney’s Office from 1977 to 1982 and continued practicing law until his retirement in 2015. Since 2001, he has been a certified meditation teacher and happiness coach at A Wise and Happy Life, where he teaches meditation to students and leaders, acts as a happiness coach, and provides classes to 12-year-old at-risk children transitioning out of the criminal justice system. He also coaches and teaches meditation to Fortune 500 CEOs. Additionally, he became an assistant professor of business law and mindful leadership at Elon University in 2016 and a partner at Martin Consulting in 2020. Additionally, he teaches “The Art and Science of Happiness” at a local community college and works as a therapist. He has also published several creative works, including “The Wisdom and Happiness Digest,” “I Am the Way: Finding the Truth and the Life Through a Biblical Reimagining of the Tao,” and “Children of Abraham.” He also dedicates his time to the Elon Community Church United Church of Christ and the North Carolina Advocates for Justice.

Laying a solid educational foundation, Mr. Martin earned a Master of Social Work (MSW) from the Joint MSW Program at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro and North Carolina A&T State University in 2001 and a Juris Doctor from Nova Southeastern University Shepard Broad College of Law in 1977. He is admitted to the bar in both Florida and North Carolina. He also holds various certifications: Certified Facilitator in The Teaching of Mindfulness and Meditation from the Engaged Mindfulness Institute, Certified Facilitator in Emotional Regulation and Self-Management from SMART, Certified Teacher in The Teaching of Mindfulness and Meditation from the Center for Koru Mindfulness at Duke University, and Certified Happiness Coach.

Mr. Martin attributes his success to his unwavering commitment to service and his ambitious spirit. Despite losing his entire family to tragedy, his father, a Hungarian royal descendant, instilled resilience in him through Sunday school classes that emphasized the reassuring presence of a loving figure in the universe. This belief gave him the strength to persevere through difficult times, knowing he was loved no matter what happened. In the coming years, he plans to transition his meditation teachings to an online platform and withdraw from courtroom proceedings, with the goal of attracting a steady influx of students. He is also currently working on his third book, and he and his wife have decided to pursue a lifestyle that allows them to travel freely while he focuses on writing and meditation, as well as his goal of starting a podcast.
