With over two decades of experience. Mr. Crockett has established a successful career in the field of construction, consulting, and product delivery, specializing in construction design, business development, business operations, and innovation. He is currently the president and co-owner of Skyler Design Build LLC, a role he has held since 2014. Skyler Design Build LLC specializes in restoration, reconstruction, reconfiguration, vertical and horizontal expansion, and ground-up construction. He has also been the president of Neo Viridis Energy LLC since 2009. In these positions, he works on strategic vision, business development, and planning to ensure the team and clients are receiving all the resources necessary to get the job done. His experience includes vice president and director of strategic consulting at Excela Energy LLC from 2013 to 2017, controls and operations manager at GE Power, General Electric Company, from 2012 to 2013, and senior project execution leader and program manager at General Electric Company from 2010 to 2012. He also served as a senior program manager at TRC Companies Inc. from 2008 to 2010, senior project manager at Risk Assessment and Management Group Inc. in 2008, and project manager and environmental engineer at TRC Companies Inc. from 2003 to 2008.
Mr. Crockett holds various memberships, including as a lifetime member of the Lean Construction Institute, The Associated General Contractors of America, the American Society of Highway Engineers, the Colorado Association of Healthcare Engineers, the Colorado Association of Healthcare Executives and Designers, and the National Small Business Association. He also dedicates his time as a member of the Leadership Development Team and Economic Development Committee for the National Small Business Association since 2023, is an active member of his local church, and volunteers with the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo, where he serves on the Mutton Bustin Committee and as a judge for the Agricultural Mechanics Competition. In recognition of his impressive undertakings, he was honored with the Best and Brightest Companies to Work For award in 2024, named to the Inc. 5000 list in 2023, and included in the Giants 400 list in 2023.
Mr. Crockett laid a solid educational foundation with a Bachelor of Science in agricultural engineering from Texas A&M University in 2003. His early educational experiences include roles as a construction engineering inspector intern with the Texas Department of Transportation in 1998, an environmental engineer intern at Pardee’s Environmental Inc. from 1999 to 2001, and a hydro technician intern with the United States Department of Agriculture – Natural Resources Conservation Service in 2002. He also holds certifications, including the Associated General Contractors of America Certificate of Membership, earned in 2021, and a Greenbelt certification obtained in 2009.
Reflecting on his journey, Mr. Crockett became involved in his career after he and his partner volunteered for the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo. During a visit to his ranch, the idea of starting a construction company emerged. Initially, he was going to invest, but after returning from their hunting trip, they quickly moved forward with the business. He is now running the company and managing every aspect of its operations. Having grown up in construction, he attributes his success to the unwavering support of his family and best friends. He is particularly proud of being able to give something back to his child, building a legacy that he can pass on. In the coming years, he aims to focus on managing his company with a vision of growing both personally and professionally. His goals include reaching $50 million in revenue this year and expanding to a billion-dollar company within the next 10 years. Additionally, he is dedicated to making Skyler the best place to work and fostering a collaborative and supportive environment for all employees.
