Rabee Ikkawi, chief executive officer at Kids Atelier, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Executives for dedication, achievements, and leadership in fashion retail.
Although he began his professional life by building up a successful career in engineering, Dr. Ikkawi was inspired to enter the entrepreneurial world by his wife. He launched Kids Atelier, a fashion retail company, alongside her in 2010 before taking on the chief executive officer role in 2017. In this position, Dr. Ikkawi implements the latest technology to streamline operations and create new opportunities for the company, with a particular focus on expanding both nationally and worldwide. Prior to taking on this executive position, he served as a senior principal engineer at Western Digital. Dr. Ikkawi has also contributed to academia as an adjunct professor and research assistant at the University of California, Riverside and Florida International University.
Those two institutions provided Dr. Ikkawi with the educational foundation he has depended on for his accomplishments. He obtained a Bachelor of Science in electrical engineering from Florida International University in 2004 and a Master of Science in electrical engineering from the same institution in 2006. Subsequently, Dr. Ikkawi earned a PhD in electrical engineering from the University of California, Riverside. His engineering expertise has resulted in several patents and his research on nanolasers was featured as one of the most promising projects of 2007 in MIT Technology Review. Dr. Ikkawi credits a combination of environmental and genetic factors for his success. He also notes the strong positive influence of his wife, who supported his transition to a new career path and encouraged him to embrace entrepreneurship.
In addition to their business, Dr. Ikkawi and his wife share two daughters. He enjoys spending his free time playing soccer, exercising, listening to music and exploring nature. Looking to the future, Dr. Ikkawi aims to continue Kid Atelier’s expansion into Canada, South America and other new territories. He aspires to help establish Kid Atelier as a household brand name.
