Gabrielle Y. Thomas, CMA, founder and executive director of the CMA Legacy Mentoring Program, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Executives for dedication, achievements, and leadership in mentorship services.
Ms. Thomas has established a successful career in mentorship services, excelling as the executive director and founder of the CMA Legacy Mentoring Program, a role she has held since 2022. In this position, she handles referrals from probation offices or courts, reviews client information and needs, and matches clients with appropriate services. Her experience also includes serving as a co-teacher and behavior therapist for clients with autism, down syndrome, and other developmental disabilities. She is a member of Alpha Phi Sigma, has partnered with Blessings Working Together and WorkSource Atlanta, and is a donor to the Church at Chapel Hill. Laying a solid educational foundation for these achievements, she earned a bachelor’s degree in public safety leadership from Mercy University in 2017 and a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice from Southeastern University in 2024.
Ms. Thomas created the CMA Legacy Mentoring Program to honor her son, grandmother, and great-grandmother, who all passed away within three months of each other in 2022. The “CMA” acronym reflects their names and legacies. Her great-grandmother was passionate about helping low- to moderate-income individuals who had been incarcerated to reintegrate into society and receive a second chance. Drawing from her experience in behavioral health and criminal justice, she established the program to support the community, particularly juveniles who are often victims of circumstance. The CMA Legacy Mentoring Program aims to assist these individuals in getting back on their feet and becoming productive members of society. In light of her impressive undertakings, she has received several honors, including the Emerging Leader Award from the Douglas County Chamber, the Presidential Achievement Award, and the Small Organization to Watch in Georgia.
Ms. Thomas takes great pride in receiving the Presidential Achievement Award in 2023, which was in response to her dedication, with over 4,000 hours invested in serving the organization and the community. She attributes her success to her passion for her work, the support of her team, and the encouragement of her family. Looking ahead, she is focused on expanding the CMA Legacy Mentoring Program, with the goal of extending the organization’s reach throughout the state of Georgia and into neighboring states. She is dedicated to continuing her positive impact on the lives of those they mentor and serve, and she plans to broaden her services to include support for individuals dealing with substance abuse and those with developmental disabilities.
