Nathan W. McKie, Sr., MBA, president and founder at Navigator Associates, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Executives for dedication, achievements, and leadership in consulting services.
With a professional life spanning nearly 50 years, Mr. McKie has served as the president of Navigator Associates since founding the company in 2001. He has also owned Signs N More since 2002 and runs Luke 16 Corp, a nonprofit group he launched in 2009. Prior to starting Navigator Associates, Mr. McKie contributed as president at Cana Enterprises Inc. and Durbin-Durco Inc. He founded his first company, Home Mart Inc., in 1976, remaining active with it until 1983. Throughout his career, Mr. McKie has also shared his knowledge as a teacher for college and online courses on small business management, marketing and ethics. He prides himself on giving back to the community through various civic engagements, including opening the nonprofit Recruiting Entrepreneurs to Assist Communities to Thrive (R.E.A.C.T.) in 2018 and holding the position of board president of the Iron County Economic Partnership for five years.
Mr. McKie’s performance in the field was born of his education, beginning with a Bachelor of Business Administration in marketing from The University of Mississippi in 1968. In 1982, he earned dual Masters of Business Administration, one specializing in business and commerce and the other in marketing and management, from Delta State University. Mr. McKie subsequently completed coursework toward a doctorate at The University of Mississippi. Devout in his faith, he has been certified in ministry by the Central Baptist Theological Seminary and as a lay speaker by the Missouri Conference of the United Methodist Church. Mr. McKie has published multiple books about the connection between his beliefs and his business pursuits. His most recent, “The Dignity of Profit,” was released in 2024.
Beyond his career, Mr. McKie is a dedicated father to three and grandfather to nine. In his free time, he works on home projects, travels, reads and writes. Mr. McKie attributes his success to his curiosity and willingness to dig deep into the things that he’s passionate about. He points especially to his interest in psychology, which he believes has buoyed his business dealings by allowing him to understand the actions and choices of other people. Mr. McKie finds great joy in using his mastery of psychology to help guide people toward making the best and most ethical decisions.
