Chris Jungjohann, founder and principal at Recess Creative, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Executives for dedication, achievements, and leadership in creative arts and design.

With two decades of experience, Mr. Jungjohann has built a successful career in creative arts and design. He is the founder of Buds & Pals, a video, animation, and photography studio launched in 2023. The studio collaborates with Recess Creative and operates independently, offering services such as video production, TV production, photography, and motion graphics. Additionally, he has served as the founder and principal of Recess Creative since 2009. Recess Creative is a full-service creative and technology agency that works with a diverse range of clients, from startups and nonprofits to global organizations. Notable clients include the City of Cleveland, Lincoln Electric, KeyBank, the Lead Safe Cleveland Coalition, and the Cleveland Airport System, for which Recess Creative has been the agency of record for over eleven years. His experience includes serving as a partner at Plotter in Cleveland/Akron from 2012 to 2014, an adjunct professor at the Cleveland Institute of Art from 2011 to 2012, an adjunct professor at Cuyahoga Community College from 2009 to 2011, associate creative director at Rosetta from 2008 to 2010, interactive designer at Melamed Riley Advertising from 2007 to 2008, and assistant director of admissions at the Cleveland Institute of Art from 2005 to 2007.

Mr. Jungjohann is actively involved in various organizations, including the American Advertising Federation, serves on the advisory committee for CEO Star at the North American Marketing Alliance, and dedicates his time to Random Acts of Kindness Everywhere and the Food Pack Foundation. In light of his impressive undertakings, he has been honored with the AIGA Award, the 40 Under Forty Award, and various design and interactive awards. Laying a solid educational foundation, he earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in photography and digital media from the Cleveland Institute of Art in 2005. He takes great pride in having a diverse portfolio of interesting projects and client collaborations, ranging from small startups to nonprofits, as well as partnerships with the City of Cleveland, the county, and the state. One of his most significant recent projects was the redesign of the City of Cleveland’s website, a large-scale initiative that took several years to complete and launch. He finds it especially rewarding to work with a team that includes long-standing members and recent graduates, whose fresh perspectives often inspire and enhance the creativity of more experienced professionals. In the coming years, he is focused on expanding his companies’ operations, is excited about a project on the horizon to develop a mobile application, and looks forward to returning to the teaching world.
