When advising aspiring professionals, he emphasizes the importance of building connections beyond one’s immediate role and department. He notes that many newcomers tend to limit their interactions with their direct colleagues and work environment. Instead, he encourages reaching out to colleagues in different departments to gain a broader perspective. By fostering cross-departmental relationships, individuals can enhance their understanding of their own roles and potentially uncover new opportunities within the organization.
