José Martin Blanco, senior vice president of internet technology (IT) at Wells Fargo, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Executives for dedication, achievements, and leadership in IT.

With nearly four decades of experience in IT, Mr. Blanco has built a successful career as a technology executive. He currently serves as senior vice president and head of advisor field servicing at Wells Fargo, a role he has held since 2023. In this capacity, he is responsible for envisioning, developing, and supporting digital solutions across industries, driving digital transformation initiatives. His prior experience at Wells Fargo includes serving as head of advisor field servicing and head of advisor enablement functions from 2021 to 2023, and as vice president of IT from 2015 to 2021. During his tenure, he led a 190-member team within the advisors field servicing product area, overseeing critical functions such as compensation, compliance, and advisors’ book management for a $2.2T wealth investment management firm. He successfully managed a 3-year strategic roadmap, leveraging advanced technologies like AI, cloud computing, and low/no-code platforms, which resulted in a 40% efficiency increase and tripled productivity. Additionally, he implemented agile product management, managed a $35M annual budget, and cultivated a global team culture that enhanced productivity and promoted DE&I.

Mr. Blanco’s experience also includes serving as director of IT and reliability architecture leader at GE Capital from 2014 to 2015, and as director, chief architect, and IT strategy leader at GE Capital from 2010 to 2014. Prior to that, he was senior business product manager at Best Buy from 2008 to 2010, eDiscovery program manager at GMAC-RFC from 2007 to 2008, and project manager at Wells Fargo from 2004 to 2007. Earlier in his career, he served as managing director at Martin’s Computer from 1994 to 2002, technology manager at MEROCA from 1992 to 1994, technology manager at COSA Engineers from 1990 to 1992, and software engineer at CORPOZULIA from 1986 to 1990. In addition, he has served as co-chair of the chief information officer executive summit at Evanta, a Gartner company, since 2019 and has been head soccer coach at Eden Prairie Soccer Club since 2018. He also chairs the Latin team member network at Wells Fargo, a role he has held since 2018, and has served as co-chair for the chief data officer summit at Evanta since 2014. He was actively involved with the Hispanic association at GE Fleet Services, GE Capital from 2011 to 2015 and has contributed to organizations such as the Association for Latino Professionals in Health University, the Latino Economic Development Center, CLUES, COPAL, and Casa de Esperanza.

Mr. Blanco’s accomplishments include achieving a 40% rationalization and tripling productivity by implementing a product-oriented organizational method, enterprise architecture principles, and modern technology solutions. He led the successful technology merger of GE Capital’s Commercial Distribution Finance with Wells Fargo, delivering the project on time, within budget, and minimizing resource attrition. At GE Capital Fleet Services, from 2010 to 2013, he increased the Net Promoter Score from -40 to +40 by modernizing the company’s digital offerings while managing a $35MM budget. His achievements have earned him recognition, including being named to the HITEC 100 list in 2023 as one of the most influential Latino professionals in technology. He laid a solid educational foundation with a bachelor’s degree in information technology from Maracaibo, Venezuela, a Master of Science in computer science from Maharishi International University in 2006, and a Master of Business Administration in information management from Capella University in 2015. He holds a Project Management Professional certification and remains actively involved with organizations like the Westchester Association for Computer Science and the Society for Hispanic Engineering Professionals.
