Eduardo C. Vieira, senior vice president of emerging markets and fixed income sales and desk strategist supervisor at Itau BBA, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Executives for dedication, achievements, and leadership in emerging market investments.
Mr. Vieira’s professional life began nearly 30 years ago in his home country of Brazil. He joined Banco de Investimentos Garantia as a customer relationship management analyst in 1997. When that institution was acquired by Credit Suisse, Mr. Vieira relocated to New York, taking on the role of director of Latin American credit strategy. After more than 10 years with Credit Suisse, he began his first tenure at Itau BBA as a senior credit research analyst and strategist. Beginning in 2014, Mr. Vieira held the position of head of emerging markets corporate debt research at Deutsche Bank for several years. This allowed him to settle in New York once again while remaining focused on his area of specialty in Latin American markets.
Most recently, Mr. Vieira returned to Itau BBA in 2018, serving as the senior vice president of emerging markets and fixed income sales and desk strategist supervisor. His responsibilities include connecting with large institutional investors in the United States and Canada to sell bank products and resources to them. Mr. Vieira aids Itau BBA in finalizing deals across various markets, utilizing the many strong connections he has built throughout his career. He has shifted his focus to the commercial side of the bank, trading bonds and providing banks and investors guidance in understanding the market.
Before pursuing his primary vocation, Mr. Vieira set a solid academic foundation for his future. He earned a Bachelor of Science in electronic engineering from the Instituto Tecnológico de Aeronáutica, graduating with honors in 1996. Since then, Mr. Vieira has bolstered his credentials by earning multiple qualifications through the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority Inc. He is certified as a general securities principal, a general securities representative and a uniform securities agent. To stay updated on the latest news and trends in his industry, Mr. Vieira is an active member of Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) Society New York.
Of his many accomplishments, Mr. Vieira is particularly proud of having played a significant role in helping lead the financial industry through a challenging period in Brazil from 2015 to 2017. He collaborated with state-owned, independent and international corporations to offer assistance during a volatile period in the market. During this time, Mr. Vieira built a reputation among investors as an expert who could navigate the complexities of the Brazilian market. This period strongly contributed to his work in emerging market corporate debt research in 2018.
To commemorate his achievements, Mr. Vieira was honored by Credit Suisse, where he was listed at the number one rank in institutional investor research. He attributes his success to the high standards he holds himself to, his curiosity, and his dedication to lifelong learning. Mr. Vieira has a relentless personal work ethic but also recognizes the importance of teamwork. He prioritizes building and maintaining strong, sustainable teams.
Outside of his career, Mr. Vieira is dedicated as a husband and father to two children. He enjoys running marathons, traveling the world and playing soccer. In planning for the future, Mr. Vieira hopes to establish himself even further as a prominent figure in his field.
