With nearly two and a half decades of experience, Mr. Mahan has built a successful career in manufacturing, specializing in production, machinery, automation engineering, robotic automation, mechanical engineering, and program management. Since 2021, he has served as the automation division vice president and general manager at Wauseon Machine, where he leads multiple divisions, including robotics, sales, and operations. In this role, he oversees 225 employees and is deeply involved in concept reviews and equipment operations, ensuring that products are made in America while working with robotics automation and tube-forming technology. His previous roles include general manager of the automated manufacturing group at CNC Solutions LLC from 2018 to 2021, automation division manager at Husco from 2013 to 2018, and business unit manager at BE Aerospace from 2010 to 2013. He held positions such as senior product designer at Generac Power Systems from 2007 to 2010, senior project engineer at S&S Cycle Inc. from 2004 to 2007, and design engineer at John Deere in 2004. Additionally, he served in the U.S. Army as an 11B infantryman and 21T technical engineering specialist from 1999 to 2008, mechanical designer at Wolf Appliance Company and Quality Tech at Walker Stainless Steel from 2001 to 2003, and engineering project lead at DE Smith from 2003 to 2004.
Mr. Mahan currently serves as president of the Maumee Valley Region for the Porsche Club of America and has been a foster parent with the Wisconsin Department of Children and Families. His leadership extends to serving as a director for the Mercedes-Benz Club of America and as a committee member for St. James Perpetual Care. He is also actively involved in the Boy Scouts of America as a Clubmaster Leader for Pack 98 and participates in charity events like the Drive for Babies Event for the March of Dimes. His contributions include being an advance guard and fiscal contributor to the Wounded Warrior Project, a donor to Helping Hands, and the holder of two patents, one for a light fixture assembly in 2012 and another for a compression release mechanism in 2010. In light of his impressive undertakings, he was named Member of the Year by the Mercedes-Benz Club of America in 2020 and received the Editor’s Choice Award for Most Innovative Product from Popular Mechanics in 2009. His strong educational foundation includes an Associate of Science in mechanical engineering from Southwest Wisconsin Technical College, a Bachelor of Science in project management from Capella University, and certifications from the University of Wisconsin, Platteville, and Fort Leonard Wood Army Base in engineering and mechanical technologies.
