A cybersecurity professional for over 25 years, Mr. Namuth is currently the chief information security officer with the City and County of Denver, leading the cybersecurity team in protecting the 25 agencies that serve the residents of Denver. Prior, he was the director of advisory services and chief information security officer for Beazley Security. In this position, he helped clients with the maturation of their security programs, offered services that reduced risk and increased efficiency for their organization, led the internal security program for Beazley Security and presented at several conferences on behalf of the company. Furthermore, he has been active on the adjunct faculty for California State University, Northridge since 2023. Prior to these roles, Mr. Namuth found success as the chief information security officer with ReedGroup from 2018 to 2019, the security program manager with Tenable from 2019 to 2021, an advisor for Blue Lava, Inc. from 2018 to 2023, and the chief information security officer with Realtime Electronic Payments from 2021 to 2023 and strategic artificial intelligence advisory member at the University of Colorado Colorado Springs. Mr. Namuth also held cybersecurity leadership roles at SBAlliance, Stream Global Services, Sports Authority, and Red Robin.
Among his many achievements, Mr. Namuth is proud to have been selected as a six-time speaker at the RSA Cybersecurity Conference – 5 times at the main conference in San Francisco and 1 time at the conference in Singapore. He has also been interviewed on several renowned podcasts. Mr. Namuth has obtained several certifications over the course of his career including, CISSP, PMP, GCIH, GCFA, CCSP, and GICSP. He is proud of the leadership and mentoring he has provided many people.
To support his professional ambitions, Mr. Namuth earned a Bachelor of Arts in psychology from Nebraska Wesleyan University, a Master of Social Work at Washington University in St. Louis, and a Master of Science in finance at Colorado State University Global. He attributes his success to the support he has received from others, especially his wife. Drawn to his field after seizing an opportunity following his graduation from Washington University, he is grateful for the opportunity to mentor the next generation of cybersecurity professionals. Looking toward the future, Mr. Namuth hopes to continue exhibiting his leadership in his field. His advice to people working in cybersecurity and those entering the field is to always strive to be curious and successful, but don’t allow your success to inflate your ego.
