Rohit Sinha, assistant vice president at Sutherland Global, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Executives for dedication, achievements, and leadership in finance.
With three decades of experience, Mr. Sinha has built a successful career in finance, specializing in finance transfer, order to cash (OTC or O2C), and managing end-to-end O2C operations with teams of up to 70 for back-office functions, including collections and cash applications. He has excelled as assistant vice president and digital finance leader at Sutherland since 2023. In this role, he oversees client business processes, identifies system or policy gaps, assesses the current state, determines the desired future state, and collaborates with clients to implement necessary changes. He also identifies required solutions, whether through process improvements or digital system implementations, and evaluates the tools and technologies needed to drive these changes. His previous experience includes serving as director at HCL Technologies in Philadelphia from 2021 to 2023, principal at Vicharic Inc. from 2014 to 2021, and director of global finance PMO at Juul Labs from 2019 to 2020. He also held roles as principal at FinMetrix from 2013 to 2014, project manager at PwC from 2010 to 2013, project manager at Satori Consulting from 2006 to 2010, senior consultant at The Hackett Group from 1999 to 2006, and assistant manager at Vodafone from Delhi, India, from 1995 to 1997.
Laying a solid educational foundation, Mr. Sinha earned a Bachelor of Commerce from Delhi University, a Diploma in Banking and Finance from Monash University, and a Master of Business Administration in management and finance from FORE School of Management in New Delhi. He further enhanced his expertise by completing the CORe program in accounting, economics, and business analysis, as well as certificates in strategy and leading with finance, all from Harvard Business School Online. In addition, he is a sponsor for two to three children through Nanhi Kali and CARE India. Reflecting on his path, after graduating from college, he began his career with a phone company in its early stages, where his interest in finance led to a role in a newly formed organization responsible for managing credentials and collections activities. His career highlights include collaborating with a top 20 U.S. company to create an end-to-end future-state process map covering the entire order-to-cash value chain, a complex project involving multiple teams and functions across the client’s organization. He also worked with a client in the Asia-Pacific region to significantly improve their Days Sales Outstanding (DSO) in Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, and India, reducing the DSO from 100 days to 35 days in the Asia-Pacific region and from 240 days to 65 days in India, marking a historic low for the company.
Mr. Sinha attributes his success to his practice of first thoroughly understanding a problem before attempting to find a solution. He emphasizes the importance of maintaining an open mindset and exploring diverse perspectives to enhance outcomes. He also embraces challenges and feedback, recognizing that collaboration often produces more robust and impactful results than working in isolation. In the coming years, he aims to secure a controllership role within an organization. While he acknowledges the power of technology, he also stresses that well-functioning processes are essential for successful technological implementation. He believes in aligning people, processes, and technology to maximize benefits and is committed to supporting his partners in advancing their progress on the path to transformation.
