Michael S. Ferree, PMP, founder and chief executive officer at Shojiki Consulting LLC, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Executives for dedication, achievements, and leadership in cyber security.
With nearly two and a half decades of experience, Mr. Ferree has built a successful career in cybersecurity, specializing in technical support and information assurance. He currently holds multiple roles, including chief executive officer at 502 Design Services since 2023 and founder and chief executive officer at Shojiki Consulting LLC since 2021. His prior experience includes serving as government account manager at ConvergeOne Government Solutions from 2021 to 2022, vice president of business development at SecureStrux LLC from 2019 to 2021, and director of business development at SecureStrux LLC from 2017 to 2019. He also worked as director at Craig Technologies from 2006 to 2016, project manager at Oaktree Solutions in 2006, project manager at RGII Technologies Inc. from 2001 to 2006, and programmer analyst at Aspen Systems Corp from 1994 to 2001. In addition to his professional roles, he has dedicated his time as a volunteer mentor with SCORE Mid-Florida since 2022 and as a volunteer adviser and board member for the Florida Small Business Development Center at the University of Central Florida’s Advisory Board Council since 2020.
Reflecting on his path, Mr. Ferree laid a solid educational foundation by completing coursework in computer programming with a focus on mainframe languages, Customer Information Control Systems, Assembly, Common Business Oriented Language, and Job Control Language at the Computer Learning Center. He also earned a Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt from the Rochester Institute of Technology and is a certified Project Management Professional through the Project Management Institute. With a strong background in federal contracting, he has worked for both small and large businesses since 1994 and has played a significant role in fostering the growth of various companies. Recently, he became aware of a new requirement from the treasury for registering company ownership by January 1, 2025. Concerned about the excessive fees some companies charge for what should be a simple registration process, and the potential fines for non-compliance, he took the initiative to research the requirement. By informing his clients and consultants about it, he hopes to help them avoid unnecessary expenses and build trust in the process.
Mr. Ferree credits his success to his unwavering commitment to honesty and hard work. His guiding principle is to lead by example, collaborate with his team to accomplish objectives, and remain open to new ideas, even in the face of resistance. Looking to the future, he envisions establishing a company that aligns with his values and allows him to collaborate with like-minded individuals while supporting clients he believes in. His mission is to give back to the small business community by offering them a trusted partner who can provide access to senior-level professionals on a fractional basis, helping them thrive. He aims to work closely with internal teammates and clients who share the common goal of achieving success and fostering a harmonious working relationship. His long-term vision reflects his big-picture approach to business, in which he is committed to building solid, stable organizations that prioritize the well-being of their employees. His goal is to create an environment where people feel secure and supported in both their professional and personal lives, rather than focusing solely on financial gain. Ultimately, he hopes to grow his business into a recognized name in federal contracting while providing a comfortable and supportive workplace for his employees.
