Tabitha J. Liburd, founder at Marshall Duke Consulting, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Executives for dedication, achievements, and leadership in consulting.
With nearly two decades of experience, Ms. Liburd has built a successful career in consulting. She is the founder of Marshall Duke Consulting, a firm she established in 2020, and has served as the human resources manager at Juice Analytics since 2017. Marshall Duke Consulting is named in honor of her maternal grandmother, Ivy Duke, and her mother, Shirley Marshall, both of whom inspired her commitment to helping women balance the demands of professional and personal life. Drawing from her own and her family’s experiences, she founded the firm to provide targeted guidance for women navigating complex roles, equipping them with the strategies needed for success. Ms. Liburd’s prior roles include clerk of court with the Cayman Islands Office of Judicial Administration from 2010 to 2017, deputy registrar and master of the supreme court for the Judiciary of The Bahamas from 2000 to 2010, specialist advisor for the Office of the Attorney General with the Law Reform and Revision Commission of The Bahamas from 2007 to 2010, and external examiner at Norman Manley Law School from 2006 to 2008. Additionally, Ms. Liburd served in drafting written judgments for the Supreme Court of The Bahamas from 2001 to 2010.
Laying a solid educational foundation, Ms. Liburd earned a Bachelor of Laws from the University of the West Indies, Cave Hill Campus in 1992, an Education Certificate from Hugh Wooding Law School in 1994 and a Master of Arts in conflict management from Lipscomb University. Her certifications include an accredited mediator from the London School of Mediation, an advanced certificate in company law and practice, and an advanced certificate in trust creation from the Society of Trust & Estate Practitioners. Additionally, she earned certificates in advanced mediation from the Strauss Institute for Dispute Resolution at Pepperdine University Law School and in mediation from the Foundation for Dispute Resolution, Jamaica, where she served as a mediator at the Jamaica Resident Magistrate Court.
In the coming years, Ms. Liburd aims to help decision-makers transform their companies by increasing revenue, improving retention, and building cohesive teams that contribute to a positive reputation. She also plans to expand her efforts into the corporate sector and establish a nonprofit to support individuals unable to access services due to societal challenges and conflict. She is committed to working with higher-level leaders, helping them experience “ah ha” moments in conflict management and encouraging them to adopt and invest in these strategies. Additionally, she plans to develop her own leadership development program and collaborate with other professionals to build a community of like-minded practitioners. She also hopes to visit a country that has experienced significant conflict, such as South Africa, to engage with local academics and society, gaining insights that can be applied to conflict management challenges at home.
