Mr. Schutte’s extensive experience includes serving as a piping engineer at Cheniere Energy, Inc. from 2014 to 2021, and as a project manager at Furmanite in 2014. He held the position of senior project manager at Global American Manpower in 2013, and prior to that, he was a project engineer at Septa Energy from 2009 to 2011 and at AGA in 2006. Additionally, he worked as a piping and support engineer at KBR, Inc. from 2004 to 2005 and as a piping site engineer at TSKJ from 2003 to 2005. Earlier in his career, he served as a stress analyst at SAPREF from 1996 to 1997 and also has a military background, having served in the infantry and worked as an apprentice turner machinist. Laying a solid educational foundation, he earned a mechanical engineering certificate and a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering and Machine Design from the School of Technology in Durban, South Africa, in 1976. He is also affiliated with several professional organizations, including the Dubai Energy Chamber of Commerce, the Cryogenic Society of America, and the American Society of Mechanical Engineers.
Reflecting on his path, Mr. Schutte has built an extensive and varied career, working and living in diverse locations around the globe. His professional journey has taken him to South Korea, England on three occasions, Germany, and West Africa, where he spent seven years. He has also dedicated 26 years to the United States, where his career began in 1998 when he was invited to work in the country. Known for his accomplishments, he has successfully tackled challenging problems faced by major global companies, particularly in resolving significant vibration issues in their plants. His expertise encompasses intricate calculations, practical field experience, and a comprehensive understanding of piping processes and flexibility. His company operates in various regions, including South America, Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, and Dubai, serving clients in Indonesia, Saudi Arabia, Oman, Kuwait, and beyond.
Mr. Schutte attributes his success to a deep passion for his pursuits and a strong desire to honor the memory of his late parents, who worked tirelessly to raise him. In the coming years, after working toward his goals for the past two decades, he is determined to see them come to fruition.
